4th Sunday of Advent
The Good News of the 4th Sunday of Advent leads us to reflect on the words of Luke in his infancy narrative. “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore, the child to be born will be holy; he will be called the Son of God.” Luke 1:35. These words focus on the relationship between the creative power of the Holy Spirit and God’s human agent, Mary, in the role of salvation. The words of the angel remind us that openness to and cooperation with the Holy Spirit can make things happen which we believed to be impossible.
Many have been asking for an update about our building plans. The permits are now in process for approval. The civil drawings are being finalized and should be ready to be submitted to the Building Department next week. The architectural plan has been revised and submitted to the structural engineer. It will be ready to be submitted to the Building Department with the civil plan.
Based on the revisions that have been made, we hope that an acceptable price can be agreed upon. Mr. Metzler will then be able to draw a set of plans consistent with the funding we have available for this project. For information on the progress of our Capital Campaign to date, please consult our website at www.onecatholicohana.org. If the permitting process stays on track, I am hopeful that the site work can begin in the early part of 2012.
Please check the bulletin for Mass schedules. We have sent Mass schedules for Christmas and New Year’s to the hotels and some of the resorts.
Prepare the way of the Lord during this last week of Advent.
Peace in Christ,
