We began the Advent Season with the passage from Isaiah describing the mountain of the Lord as that place where those who follow God’s instructions go. Today, as Advent Season draws near to a close, we have processed up the mountain; we are about to enter into the place where God dwells and where, at the same time, God enters our lives. Do we have the faith to cross over that threshold like Joseph did or do we need a sign like Ahaz in today’s first reading demanded? Has this Advent been different than those before? We all want to grow into a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Incarnation of Jesus rather than just celebrate the exterior manifestations of Christmas. Use every minute of this week well to prepare. Next week we will, indeed, celebrate.
As you finish buying and wrapping gifts for family and friends, please remember St. Michaels. Most especially, please remember a gift for our new church. We would like to be in a new building for our next Christmas celebration but we still need to raise another $2,000,000 in order to build the church.
Please don’t forget our celebration of the Three Kings at the One Ohana on Jan 2ndfrom 1PM to 2:30PM. Bring your favorite Christmas cookies or other dessert.
Please read your bulletin and take note of the Mass schedule for Christmas.
Peace in Christ,
Fr. Lio
