Memorial Day Lanterns in Hawaii

Memorial Day Lanterns in Hawaii

On Memorial Day, we give thanks and offer prayers for the millions of men and women who have given their lives in order that we may live in freedom.  We celebrate their lives lest we should forget the sacrifices they made for us by their deaths.  Memorial Day is commonly celebrated by placing flags and flowers on the graves and throwing flowers into the water to honor those who died at sea.

I would like to thank Robert Leopoldino for his motivating talk at all the Masses last Sunday at St. Michael’s, and Mindy Finnegan’s message of hope for the future of St. Michael’s given at the mission Churches.  Every dollar that we raise is important to help defray the cost of building the Church.  Thank you to all who were able to stretch like the rubber bands Robert used as a symbol by given just a little more.  I appreciate your efforts.

Enjoy your Memorial Day picnics.

Joy in the Lord,
